Wildlife Defence League: Trophy Free BC

Wildlife Defence League took to the wilderness of the West Kootenays in British Columbia on their spring Trophy Free BC' campaign. WDL crew confronted hunters, while monitoring, documenting, and exposing the BC trophy grizzly bear hunt.


Refuge Stewards: Western Pond Turtle

In partnership with the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife, the Columbia Gorge Refuge Stewards take part in a habitat restoration project for the western pond turtle.


Refuge Stewards: Tree planting 

In partnership with Lower Columbia Estuary Project, the Columbia Gorge Refuge Stewards planted over 550 tree's and shrubs to benefit the wildlife that call Steigerwald Lake National Wildlife Refuge home.

Killing neck snares are cruel and inhumane devices, used to trap canids and other wildlife. Studies suggest that snares can take up to 23 hours to kill animals. Wildlife Defence League along with a handful of partners launch a campaign to ban the use of killing neck snares across Canada.

Operation Great Bear 

Wildlife Defence League was invited up to the Sacred Headwaters of northern BC, Canada by the Tahltan First Nations people to help them with a road blockade. A strategic road blockade on the only road leading into an area the size of Oregon, successfully stopping trophy hunters in their tracks. 

In Defense of the Sacred

Wildlife Defence League were asked to come up and support the local Tahltan First Nations people on a very important road blockade during moose hunting season. Successfully stopping the entry of trophy hunters into the Sacred Headwaters.
